“Now THIS is happening …” is one of my all time favorite movie lines. Jack Black’s character says it in “Anchorman” right before he drop kicks a dog off a bridge. It sounds terrible but the whole scene and subsequent reaction by Will Ferrell is comedy gold. My inner dialog uses that line a lot when things go weird and that’s what I kept thinking during our 1AM trip to the emergency room about a week ago.
Every emergency room story seems to occur in the middle of the night because nothing bad ever conveniently happens at a respectable hour, like 2:45pm. Anyway, long story short, I was in insane pain and am now scheduled for surgery to have some problematic body parts removed. Subsequently, August is going to be pretty uneventful on the blog. We are thankful to have lots of support in Wisconsin, plus the excellent UW Hospital system, and my favorite treat when feeling sick — Culver’s frozen custard. We do hope to get in a few local adventures because there’s lots to explore in this state.
