This past week we had a really great stay in Wisconsin while we enjoyed a family reunion. We got to see Kate’s family who came in from New York, Illinois, Missouri, Ohio, Minnesota and, of course, Wisconsin. We showed them the RV and discussed travel destinations across the country.
Yesterday morning (perfect timing) we were surprised when FedEx delivered our license plates early! That was the last item needed to really hit the road so we loaded all of our stuff and started organizing it into the bins and drawers in the RV (which we have recently been calling Molly, as in the “Unsinkable” Molly Brown, memorializing our poor RV’s ordeal just 3 days off the lot). We are relieved that even after loading what seemed like way too much stuff, there’s still plenty of space left.
The back end of Molly is still damaged but that has not impacted the drivability or usability. The parts needed for the repair will take a month or so to arrive so we are taking that time to drive out to Yellowstone for our reservation on July 23rd. We will then drive back to have the repairs done. In the meantime, Kate put a large band-aid decal on the back to hopefully say to other RVers; “Yes, yes … we know. We are damaged.” Because since the damage we’ve already had one driver tell us something was wrong in back thinking we didn’t know.
So for now we say goodbye to Wisconsin and tomorrow we go west. We’ll have to consider trying some of this beer shaped sausage when we get back.
