We have lift off!

This morning we got up very early to make a 6:15am flight to Dayton, OH. After we arrived, we took a cab ride in from the airport and finally met our new motorhome. We immediately got to work with Doug, the technician, and he showed us the ins-and-outs of all the systems. I had downloaded and read the manual along with as much other info about the Reyo 25T that I could find so it went quickly and I think (hope) it stuck with me. When that was done we went inside to sign the papers and make it ours.

After we sat in the cockpit for a while acclimating to our new reality, we put it in drive and headed out to get some street under our belts. This is a BIG vehicle and it took a half-hour or so to get the feel for how it drives. Doug, and Gregg our salesman, had recommended a nearby KOA as a place to spend the night so we pointed TomTom to it and hit the highway. When we got close to the campground we stopped at a gas station to top off the diesel fuel and buy some beers to celebrate once we got to KOA. We chose a full hookup site so we could get some experience with all of the connections and put the RV through it’s paces to find any problems. Everything has worked well and as expected. I sealed Kate into the nest of a bedroom so she could nap and I familiarized myself with more of our new home. I love it. It’s well made, comfortable, and high-tech enough to satisfy my geekiness.

RV 1st Night

The KOA Dayton Tall Timbers RV park is nice. The sites are clean and groomed, there are plenty of activities and services available and the staff is friendly and helpful. The price is a bit steep at $50/night but we got a deluxe spot but didn’t really need all of the hook ups. We’re learning…

Ilona is BESIDE herself waiting to go potty in a REAL Richard-Scarry-eque-MOBILE. (Remember when I told you how after seeing the raccoons in our neighbor’s roof she exclaimed “I saw raccoons! And they were REAL!”)
